Anna Steele has skipped out to an early lead establishing a handy break over Caitlin Telford. Sue Comrie follows this pair with Karen Bragg behind. The field then tightens with Michael Carolan just ahead of both Beka Hannah and LC Sands, who are running neck and neck. Jean-Jacques Lale-Demoz is not far off that group but Lucie Hallenstein is at the moment trailing the pack, but is expected to make her surge soon.
As for the intergenerational conflict Generation X are not showing any signs of happiness at being the early leaders. The Baby Boomers begrudgingly hold down second place and Gen Y are right miffed that they are in the rear.
